Teens among ten held in SoE operations

Ten peo­ple have been ar­rest­ed for vary­ing of­fences and quan­ti­ties of firearms, am­mu­ni­tion and drugs seized dur­ing on­go­ing State of Emer­gency Op­er­a­tions across the coun­try.

In the West­ern Di­vi­sion, Task Force of­fi­cers and de­tec­tives of the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment (CID) of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 6 pm on Jan­u­ary 2 and 1 am on Jan­u­ary 3, in the Mar­aval dis­trict.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, the of­fi­cers con­duct­ed a search in a bar at Morne Co­co Road, where a quan­ti­ty of cannabis was seized.

An­oth­er op­er­a­tion in the vicin­i­ty of the WASA Wa­ter Treat­ment Fa­cil­i­ty led to the dis­cov­ery of a black plas­tic bag con­tain­ing 12 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

Mean­while, of­fi­cers of the Ari­ma In­tel­li­gence/Op­er­a­tions Team con­duct­ed a search of a house in Sama­roo Vil­lage, Ari­ma be­tween 11:30 am and 2:30 pm on Thurs­day.

The search led to the dis­cov­ery of one Glock pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 13 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

Two mi­nors, ages 17 and 16, who were in the house at the time of the search, were ar­rest­ed.

In the East­ern Di­vi­sion, mem­bers of the Va­len­cia CID, Spe­cial Op­er­a­tions Unit, War­rant Sec­tion and Va­len­cia Po­lice Sta­tion an Op­er­a­tion was con­duct­ed in the Va­len­cia dis­trict be­tween 12 pm and 4 pm, on Jan­u­ary 2.

Of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed three peo­ple on out­stand­ing war­rants.

In the San­gre Grande and Man­zanil­la dis­tricts, Task Force and CID of­fi­cers searched the homes of five sus­pects, which re­sult­ed in the dis­cov­ery of a quan­ti­ty of cannabis and the ar­rest of one sus­pect.

In the Rio Claro dis­trict, of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed four peo­ple for vary­ing of­fences in­clud­ing Pos­ses­sion of Cannabis for the Pur­pose of Traf­fick­ing, Pos­ses­sion of Am­mu­ni­tion, Pos­ses­sion of Co­caine and Lar­ce­ny Dwelling House.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing in­to all of the above mat­ters.
