Ten people have been arrested for varying offences and quantities of firearms, ammunition and drugs seized during ongoing State of Emergency Operations across the country.
In the Western Division, Task Force officers and detectives of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers conducted an exercise between 6 pm on January 2 and 1 am on January 3, in the Maraval district.
During the exercise, the officers conducted a search in a bar at Morne Coco Road, where a quantity of cannabis was seized.
Another operation in the vicinity of the WASA Water Treatment Facility led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing 12 rounds of ammunition.
Meanwhile, officers of the Arima Intelligence/Operations Team conducted a search of a house in Samaroo Village, Arima between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm on Thursday.
The search led to the discovery of one Glock pistol loaded with a magazine containing 13 rounds of ammunition.
Two minors, ages 17 and 16, who were in the house at the time of the search, were arrested.
In the Eastern Division, members of the Valencia CID, Special Operations Unit, Warrant Section and Valencia Police Station an Operation was conducted in the Valencia district between 12 pm and 4 pm, on January 2.
Officers arrested three people on outstanding warrants.
In the Sangre Grande and Manzanilla districts, Task Force and CID officers searched the homes of five suspects, which resulted in the discovery of a quantity of cannabis and the arrest of one suspect.
In the Rio Claro district, officers arrested four people for varying offences including Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Cocaine and Larceny Dwelling House.
Investigations are ongoing into all of the above matters.
