The daugh­ter of a To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA) sec­re­tary was among the Form Two stu­dents in­volved in the fight at Sig­nal Hill Sec­ondary School where ap­prox­i­mate­ly 20 stu­dents vi­cious­ly beat an­oth­er fe­male stu­dent last Fri­day.

A par­ent whose child was al­so in­volved in the fight con­firmed that the THA sec­re­tary at­tend­ed a meet­ing about the in­ci­dent on Mon­day and apol­o­gised to the vic­tim.

How­ev­er, the sec­re­tary did not at­tend the sec­ond meet­ing where the stu­dents were sus­pend­ed.

In video, which has been wide­ly cir­cu­lat­ed since Mon­day, the vic­tim was kicked slapped chocked, and pushed in all di­rec­tions.

One stu­dent even climbed on a desk to kick the vic­tim in the head from above.

Con­tact­ed for a com­ment, the THA’s sec­re­tary told Guardian Me­dia she doesn’t think the mat­ter is any of the me­dia’s busi­ness.

The sec­re­tary said the on­ly thing the me­dia should be speak­ing to her about is her pub­lic life, po­lit­i­cal ca­reer and the work that she does.

“Why are you ask­ing me about that? I think the on­ly thing the me­dia should be speak­ing to me about is my pub­lic life and my po­lit­i­cal ca­reer and the work that I do as a pub­lic ser­vant.”

The moth­er of the child in­volved in the at­tack con­firmed that the sec­re­tary and her daugh­ter were at the meet­ing and both apol­o­gised for the or­deal.

Po­lice have since launched and in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to the mat­ter.
