Po­lice of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed three men and three cut­lass­es were seized by of­fi­cers of the South­ern Di­vi­sion fol­low­ing a re­port of a phys­i­cal al­ter­ca­tion which oc­curred in Bar­rack­pore.

Re­ports in­di­cat­ed of­fi­cers were on mo­bile pa­trol in the Bar­rack­pore and Princes Town dis­tricts around 7:00 pm, on Thurs­day when they re­spond­ed to a re­port of a fight along New Colo­nial Road.

When of­fi­cers ar­rived on the scene, they held three sus­pects all armed with cut­lass­es.

The men were said to be in the mid­dle of what could have been a dead­ly al­ter­ca­tion when of­fi­cers in­ter­vened.

The three men, a 36-year-old, a 26-year-old and a 19-year-old, all of Lo­ca­tion Road, Bar­rack­pore, were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with fight and weapons pos­ses­sion.
