A To­co man was shot dead while at home ear­ly on Christ­mas morn­ing. Po­lice said that Kelvin Ram­samooj was asleep at his Mon­segue Trace, To­co, home at 2.40 am when a rel­a­tive who was al­so in the house re­port­ed hear­ing gun­shots.

The rel­a­tive on check­ing saw that Ram­samooj tried to run away, but col­lapsed near­by and was bleed­ing from gun­shot wounds to his back.

Of­fi­cers from the To­co Po­lice Sta­tion were called in and took Ram­samooj to the To­co Health Cen­tre where he was pro­nounced dead.

Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tors and the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion II vis­it­ed the scene and col­lect­ed sev­er­al items.

Two wound­ed in San Juan shoot­ing

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cir­cum­stances that led to the wound­ing of two men in San Juan ear­ly on Christ­mas Eve morn­ing.

Po­lice said the men ages 35 and 38 were lim­ing near a mi­ni-mart on Gran Cu­ru­caye Road, around 1 am when they heard gun­shots and ran through a near­by track for cov­er.

Res­i­dents heard the gun­shots and called the po­lice.

Of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion vis­it­ed the scene and found the wound­ed men hid­ing in a track.

Of­fi­cers took them to the hos­pi­tal where they re­ceived treat­ment.

One of the men was shot in the left hand while the oth­er was shot in the right thigh.

Po­lice are al­so in­ves­ti­gat­ing a sit­u­a­tion where a po­lice­man shot at gun­men near his home around the same time.

Po­lice said the of­fi­cer who is as­signed to the Court and Process Branch was in the gallery of his home around 12.30 am when he no­ticed four men near his car which was parked on the street.

The men, he said, fired gun­shots in­to the air.

The of­fi­cer called the po­lice but heard a sec­ond set of gun­fire and one of the men point­ed a gun at him, prompt­ing him to shoot at them.

Both sus­pects fled by run­ning through a near­by track.

Po­lice found two spent shells and a bul­let frag­ment at the scene.
