The Trinidad and To­ba­go Coast Guard has in­ter­cept­ed a ves­sel off the coast of To­ba­go where they dis­cov­ered thir­ty-five (35) pack­ages which con­tained a green plant-like sub­stance.

On 01 De­cem­ber 2022 at 11:35 pm, while con­duct­ing bor­der se­cu­ri­ty pa­trols, the Trinidad and To­ba­go Coast Guard (TTCG) in­ter­cept­ed a ves­sel off the coast of To­ba­go. There were three (3) souls on board the ves­sel. Search­es of the ves­sel re­vealed thir­ty-five (35) pack­ages which con­tained a green plant-like sub­stance.  

The ves­sel, its con­tents and the per­sons were hand­ed over to the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS) and in­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing. The Trinidad and To­ba­go Coast Guard con­tin­ues to pro­vide bor­der se­cu­ri­ty ser­vices in or­der to main­tain the safe­ty and se­cu­ri­ty of the Re­pub­lic of Trinidad and To­ba­go through the con­duct of mar­itime se­cu­ri­ty pa­trols with­in our area of op­er­a­tions.
