The Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Services Industries (TTCSI) and the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago have extended formal congratulations to Kamla Persad-Bissessar, and the United National Congress (UNC) on their success in the 2025 General Election late last evening.
TTCSI, in its statement which came soon after the results came in, acknowledged the concession of defeat by the People’s National Movement (PNM) and recognised the UNC’s efforts during the campaign period. The organisation described the result as a reflection of the work undertaken and offered encouragement to the broader team under the leadership of Persad-Bissessar.
TTCSI also congratulated Farley Augustine and the Tobago People’s Party (TPP) on what it described as a significant development in Tobago after the party wrestled the two Tobago seats away from the PNM. The statement referenced Augustine’s leadership qualities and noted the relevance of the TPP’s performance to the Tobago electorate.
Reaffirming its role as the national umbrella body for service-based businesses, TTCSI expressed its commitment to working with the new administration to enhance the competitiveness, capacity, and global positioning of Trinidad and Tobago’s services sector. The organisation emphasized the importance of Government and Opposition collaboration in addressing national challenges and maintaining the security and well-being of citizens and the business community.
In a separate statement also issued shortly after the UNC declared victory and the PNM conceded defeat, the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago also extended congratulations to the UNC and the incoming Prime Minister.
“The Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago extends congratulations to the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC and the United National Congress on their victory in the 2025 Trinidad and Tobago general election,” the statement read. The Energy Chamber expressed its intention to collaborate with the new Government on behalf of its 400 member companies. It emphasised the goal of developing a resilient energy sector that provides long-term value for the people of T&T.
Both organisations affirmed their readiness to engage with the incoming administration to support national development objectives in their respective sectors.
