Twen­ty-two peo­ple were ar­rest­ed, am­mu­ni­tion and drugs seized dur­ing an­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es in the last 24 hours

Of­fi­cers al­so re­trieved a num­ber of stolen ve­hi­cles.

Ac­cord­ing to the TTPS, in ex­er­cis­es car­ried out in the East­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed five sus­pects for var­i­ous of­fences in­clud­ing pos­ses­sion of break­ing im­ple­ments.

720 grams of mar­i­jua­na was found and seized by of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force.

The drug has an es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of $13,000.00.

Mean­while, of­fi­cers of the Tu­na­puna Charge Room ar­rest­ed and charged a 36-year-old man for mar­i­jua­na pos­ses­sion and sev­er­al traf­fic in­frac­tions in­clud­ing dri­ving with­out a Cer­tifi­cate of In­sur­ance.

The TTPS said ar­eas East and West of North Cen­tral Di­vi­sion (NCD), of­fi­cers con­duct­ed ex­er­cis­es be­tween the hours of 3:00pm and 6:00pm on Sat­ur­day 9th Sep­tem­ber 2023.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cis­es, a search war­rant was ex­e­cut­ed on a man want­ed by the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tion, Re­gion 1, in con­nec­tion with a re­cent mur­der.

The Po­lice Ser­vice said this ar­rest brings the to to­tal of sev­en ar­rests made by the Homi­cide Bu­reau.

They said an­oth­er man was al­so ar­rest­ed and charged for pos­ses­sion of stolen ve­hi­cle.

The TTPS added that of­fi­cers of the NCD, act­ing in­tel­li­gence in­for­ma­tion, ar­rest­ed and charged yet an­oth­er sus­pect for pos­ses­sion of a stolen ve­hi­cle bear­ing false num­ber plates on the Churchill Roo­sevelt High­way in the vicin­i­ty of the Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies.

Checks re­vealed that the ve­hi­cle was re­port­ed stolen in the Point Fortin dis­trict on 28 Au­gust 2023.

Al­so on Sat­ur­day Of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion in­ter­cept­ed a stolen ve­hi­cle and ar­rest­ed a man in con­nec­tion with same.

Ad­di­tion­al­ly, a par­ty of of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion to­geth­er with K9 of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to Toma­to Dri­ve, Diego Mar­tin and searched a bushy area and seized a black plas­tic bag con­tain­ing 2 kilo­grams of mar­i­jua­na and one con­tain­ing two mag­a­zines. PC Laloo is con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.

Of­fi­cers al­so con­duct­ed war­rant ex­er­cis­es in Diego Mar­tin and ar­rest­ed a male res­i­dent of a home in Cadet Hill along with three non-doc­u­ment­ed Colom­bian na­tion­als.

The TTPS said dur­ing an ex­er­cise in the North East­ern Di­vi­sion, an­oth­er stolen ve­hi­cle was re­cov­ered in the 7th Av­enue Mal­ick area.

Po­lice re­ports in­di­cate that the ve­hi­cle was stolen yes­ter­day in the Trinci­ty Mall carpark.

Ad­di­tion­al­ly, two men were ar­rest­ed in To­ba­go when a team of of­fi­cers as­sist­ed by mem­bers of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Reg­i­ment, con­duct­ed an­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es in the Scar­bor­ough dis­trict.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise five drug blocks were tar­get­ed and 51grams of mar­i­jua­na was found and seized.

One man was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find.

A 57-year-old man of Ply­mouth, To­ba­go was al­so ar­rest­ed on an out­stand­ing war­rant.
