The duo pleaded not guilty, were granted bail and the matter adjourned to February 3rd.
A victim reported to police that during the period May 2022 to July 2022, they paid two persons sums totalling $17,000 as part payment for the construction of cupboards and the purchase of a kitchen sink to be installed within six weeks after the payment was made.
The victim alleges the persons failed to build the cupboards and purchase the sink as promised and efforts to recover the money proved futile.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with the matter on January 4th, 2023 in the Arima district.
