Two charged with robbery

Twen­ty-sev­en year old Solomon Har­ri­gin and nine­teen year old Niko­lai Mc In­tosh ap­peared be­fore a Port-of-Spain Mag­is­trate to­day charged with pos­ses­sion of firearm, pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion and rob­bery with ag­gra­va­tion.

The fol­low­ing is a press re­lease from the TTPS: 

Two men are ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore a Port of Spain Mag­is­trate to­day, charged with pos­ses­sion of firearm, pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion and rob­bery with ag­gra­va­tion.

SOLOMON HAR­RI­GIN, 27, of St. James and NIKO­LAI MC IN­TOSH, 19, of Port of Spain, were charged with the of­fences af­ter they were ar­rest­ed by of­fi­cers fol­low­ing a re­port of rob­bery with ag­gra­va­tion in the Curepe dis­trict on Thurs­day 24th March, 2022.

At the time of the ar­rest, of­fi­cers al­leged­ly seized one Glock 17 pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 15 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion from the ac­cused and re­cov­ered a stolen Toy­ota Hilux which had been tak­en from its own­er 25 min­utes ear­li­er.

The charges were laid by WPC Coop­er of the Mor­vant Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment (CID) and PC St. Clair of the North­ern Di­vi­sion. In a sep­a­rate in­ci­dent, of­fi­cers of the Ch­agua­nas Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment (CID), along with of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force, Area North and the Ch­agua­nas Charg­e­room, con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise around 5 pm, on Wednes­day 30th March, 2022, in the En­ter­prise dis­trict.


Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, the of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to By­noe Trace Ex­ten­sion, where they ex­e­cut­ed a search war­rant at a house with a male and fe­male oc­cu­pant. The search re­sult­ed in of­fi­cers find­ing a Ruger pis­tol loaded with one mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 22 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion. The cou­ple was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
