The Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress is can­vass­ing for can­di­dates for the up­com­ing lo­cal gov­ern­ment elec­tion.

In a no­tice, the UNC said it's al­ready re­ceived hun­dreds of nom­i­na­tions to rep­re­sent the par­ty as coun­cil­lors and Al­der­men.

The Par­ty will re­open nom­i­na­tions for one week from Mon­day 15th May, 2023 to Mon­day 22nd May, 2023.

Nom­i­na­tion forms can be col­lect­ed and filed at the Par­ty’s head­quar­ters at 31, Mulchan Seuchan Road, Ch­agua­nas be­tween the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Dead­line for fil­ing of nom­i­na­tions is Mon­day 22nd May, 2023 at 4 p.m.

The Prime Min­is­ter has not an­nounced a date for Lo­cal gov­ern­ment elec­tions but they are due this year af­ter be­ing de­layed last year once parts of the lo­cal gov­ern­ment re­form leg­is­la­tion was pro­claimed, ex­tend­ing the terms of coun­cil­lors and al­der­men by one year.
