A group of Venezuelan farmers found the body of an unidentified man on Wednesday night in Macoya.
A police report stated that around 6:30 pm police officers went to a track off Venus Drive where they met some Venezuelan farmers who pointed out to them the body of a male, medium build, bald head, clad in a long dark-coloured pants and t-shirt, lying face down on the eastern side of a river.
The Fire Service was contacted along with the Hunters Search and Rescue Team led by Vallence Rambharat who removed the body from the river.
The District Medical Officer (DMO) visited the scene, viewed the body and made a pronouncement. The DMO noted that there were no signs of violence and ordered the body be removed pending a post mortem.
