Chris Ragonanan, a 28-year-old waitress, died when the car she was driving crashed into a wall in Marabella yesterday morning.
Ragonanan, who worked at a Chinese restaurant in Gasparillo, was heading home after work around 2 am when the accident occurred. She was driving along Union Road in a white Hyundai Accent accompanied by a 34-year-old woman who was in the front seat when the vehicle crashed into a concrete wall at Ali’s Hardware.
Officers from the Mon Repos Police Station removed Ragoonanan’s body from the vehicle and it was taken to the mortuary for an autopsy.
The passenger in the vehicle complained about neck pains and was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for medical attention.
Ragoonanan’s grandmother Molly Mohammed said she got the tragic news from Ragonanan’s brother who is on vacation abroad.
She said her granddaughter had dropped off a co-worker and was heading home at the time of the accident. Ragoonanan had recently bought the car.
Marabella police are investigating.
