An 89-year-old woman died in a fire at her Prescott Lane, Tu­na­punaN on Sun­day morn­ing.

Act­ing Fire Sta­tion Of­fi­cer (FSO) Du­mas told Guardian Me­dia Zo­bi­da Mo­hammed lived alone in a ground floor apart­ment in the build­ing.

He said the fire start­ed around 8:50 am af­ter oth­er ten­ants re­port­ed hear­ing a loud ex­plo­sion. Du­mas said fire of­fi­cers ar­rived around 9:15 am and found Mo­hammed’s body while putting out the fire.
