A 57-year-old woman with comorbidities is the latest COVID-19 victim in Tobago, according to the update for Thursday 30 December 2021, released by the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).
According to the update, hers is the only new death recorded on the island over the past 24 hours, and brings the total on the island, since March 2020, to 193 lives lost.
There has been an uptick in the number of new positive COVID-19 cases—some 72 new cases were recorded, bringing the current number of active positive cases to 1,396.
The Division’s update also reports that some 1,354 people currently are in home isolation; with another 32 people in state isolation; while five patients are being cared for in ICU; and another five persons are recovering at a step-down facility.
