Vaughn Clement scored a pair of goals as de­fend­ing cham­pi­on Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege of San Fer­nan­do kicked off the de­fence of its Sec­ondary Schools Foot­ball League (SS­FL) Co­ca-Co­la Na­tion­al In­ter­Col ti­tle with a com­fort­able 7-0 win over St Madeleine Sec­ondary in their South zon­al quar­ter­fi­nal at the Man­nie Ramjohn Sta­di­um, Mara­bel­la, on Thurs­day.

Third-placed fin­ish­ers in this year's Pre­mier Di­vi­sion of the SS­FL with an in­fe­ri­or goal dif­fer­en­tial to Fa­ti­ma Col­lege with 35 points, Pre­sen­ta­tion al­so got a goal each from Gabriel Collins, Maliq Brath­waite, Mic­ah Brath­waite, and Joshua Bernard to set up a mouth-wa­ter­ing semi­fi­nal against bit­ter ri­vals Na­pari­ma Col­lege who clob­bered Point Fortin Sec­ondary 18-0 at Lewis Street, San Fer­nan­do.

Lead­ing the way for Na­pari­ma was Is­rael Joseph with six goals while Jabari Ro­drigues fired in a beaver-trick and na­tion­al Un­der-14 cap­tain Adasa Richard­son a hat-trick in the lop­sided re­sult.

Xar­i­on France added a pair of goals in the win for Na­pari­ma with Jer­rel Coop­er, Se­bas­t­ian James, and Akiel Vesprey al­so find­ing the back of the net.

In the North Zone, Fa­ti­ma, beat­en by Queen's Roy­al Col­lege (QRC) in the 2023 semi­fi­nal, and zon­al cham­pi­on St An­tho­ny's Col­lege both won eas­i­ly as well.

At St An­tho­ny's Col­lege Ground in West­moor­ings, Fa­ti­ma slammed Mu­cu­rapo West Sec­ondary11-1 with reign­ing SS­FL 'Play­er of the Year' Michael Chaves scor­ing a hat-trick while Luke Cor­reia and Jeda­iah King net­ted two each.

The quar­tet of of Liam Good­ing, Matthew Bar­ring­ton, Josi­ah Fer­nan­des, and Ja­haem Bai­ley chipped in with a goal each for Fa­ti­ma while Mu­cu­rapo West got a con­so­la­tion item through Sime­on To­by.

Up at Fa­ti­ma Col­lege Ground, Mu­cu­rapo Road, St An­tho­ny's Col­lege spanked Trin­i­ty Col­lege of Mo­ka 5-1 in­spired by a dou­ble from (Jean-Marc Thomas and one each from An­dell Fras­er, Terique Theobold, and Oba­di­ah Eye­ad­e­laroshyia while Trin­i­ty Mo­ka got its lone strike through An­to­nio Cole.

In the East Zone, Ari­ma North Sec­ondary blanked Holy Cross Col­lege 3-0 with Tyrel Sta­ple­ton find­ing the net twice and Jah­mar­ley Caleb the oth­er while in the lone Cen­tral Zone match, Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege of Ch­agua­nas edged Cara­pichaima West 3-2 thanks to a dou­ble from Tyler Som­rah and over in To­ba­go, Ma­son Hall de­feat­ed Bish­ops High 4-1 be­hind a hat-trick from Rick­elde Williams.
