Theo Crovador banged in a double to lead Defence Force to a 4-0 blanking of Central Soccer World to extend their lead at the top of Group Two of the T&T Premier Football League Tier II competition continued on Sunday.
The visiting Defence Force was expected to face a stern test at the St Mary’s Recreation Ground, Freeport, but instead breezed into an early 2-0 advantage via Josiah Superville, his sixth of the season, in the tenth minute, and captain Jamali Garcia, five minutes later.
Six minutes before the interval Crovador got his first and Defence Force’s third before he added the other in the 55th minute for his fifth on teh campaign as they pushed their points tally to 28 points from ten matches, well clear of opponents Central Soccer World while Union Hall United is third with 15, and a match in hand, one more than MIC Matura ReUnited, 2-1 winners over AIA Eagles FC at Matura Recreation Ground, Matura.
For Mathura ReUnited, Kerin Vincent scored on either side of Alexis Blackwell’s item for Eagles in the 38th, with his strikes coming, first in the 35th, and then in the 54th.
Guaya United is next with 12 points after being held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Club Sando at Guayaguayare Recreation Ground while San Fernando Giants and Petit Valley/Diego Martin United also drew 1-1 at Mahaica Sporting Complex.
On Saturday in Group One, Malabar Young Stars whipped RSSR FC 4-1 to stay three points clear with 19 points from nine matches, three more than Police FC, who edged defending champions Harlem Strikers 2-1 at the Ancil Elcock Recreational Ground in Caroni.
