Easy go­ing for E-Z Lines as ti­tle glo­ry is on­ly two game weeks away. Match-day 13 of the Na­tion­al Mixed For­mat league of Darts was host­ed by the T&T Darts As­so­ci­a­tion (TT­DA) at No 36 New Street, Port-of-Spain, on Au­gust 4.

E-Z Lines hold a six-point lead over sec­ond place af­ter dis­patch­ing rel­e­ga­tion-bound Pub House Pi­rates 9-1. The vic­to­ry sees them ce­ment first place and inch clos­er to clinch­ing the ti­tle.

Fol­low­ing be­hind in sec­ond place is Jus For Fun Vikings, the Vikings took on fifth place Bul­lz I, win­ning 8-2. With two game weeks to go, the Vikings have a slim chance of snatch­ing the ti­tle but need to keep up the pace and then win their fi­nal match against the league lead­ers. De Orig­i­nal Game Shot (DOGS) are ten points be­hind in third place af­ter a com­fort­able 8-2 win over strug­gling Drifters.

DOGS' ti­tle hopes are not over yet; they are still in the race math­e­mat­i­cal­ly, how­ev­er, they will need two per­fect vic­to­ries in their up­com­ing fix­tures and favourable re­sults in oth­er matchups.

It was busi­ness as usu­al for cham­pi­ons-elect of the B di­vi­sion as Scor­pi­ons con­tin­ued their march to glo­ry. The league lead­ers had one of their tough­est fix­tures yet af­ter bat­tling to a very well-de­served but hard-fought 6-4 vic­to­ry over sixth-placed Reck­less Darts Team. It was 2-2 af­ter the first block but in true Scor­pi­ons fash­ion, they dom­i­nat­ed the en­counter in the sin­gles round and se­cured vic­to­ry, which sees them main­tain their un­beat­en run of this cam­paign. Triple Vi­sion were held to a 5-5 draw by third-placed Sea Wolves, mean­while Jus For Fun Snipers en­joyed an easy 7-3 vic­to­ry over fifth-place Shang­hai Bulls.

In C di­vi­sion ac­tion, Flight­ed Friends were giv­en a great boost af­ter Mu­cu­rapo Mus­ke­teers were not able to field a team, re­sult­ing in all ten points be­ing re­ward­ed to the league lead­ers. Ran­dom Squad were on the re­ceiv­ing end of a shock 6-4 de­feat at the hands of new­com­ers Pel­terzzz. Bull­dogs dis­placed and de­feat­ed Top Shot 7-3 to now oc­cu­py third place. League ac­tion con­tin­ues Tues­day (Au­gust 12) at the same venue.

The TT­DA held the sec­ond in­stal­ment of the di­vi­sion­al rank­ing tour­na­ment on Sat­ur­day (Au­gust 9). The C di­vi­sion win­ner is Fran­cis Payne of Top Shot af­ter de­feat­ing Mau­rice Berens of Ran­dom Squad in the fi­nal 2-0. The B di­vi­sion fi­nal was an all Scor­pi­ons af­fair as Hec­tor Al­zo­la de­feat­ed his team­mate and cap­tain Sher­az Ra­sool 3-0. Joshua Bal­four of DOGS reigns again as the A di­vi­sion cham­pi­on af­ter de­feat­ing Adam Hep­burn of E-Z lines 6-0 in the fi­nal. The TT­DA, in a re­lease, ex­tend­ed spe­cial thanks to By­den Pi for their con­tin­ued sup­port in pow­er­ing these grab bag tour­na­ments.

Dates for the T&T Zon­al league have been con­firmed with North Zone host­ing the first day on Sep­tem­ber 21, East host­ing on Oc­to­ber 5 and South host­ing on Oc­to­ber 19. Venues and times are still to be de­ter­mined.
