St Joseph's Convent Port of Spain (SJCP) clinched two titles and Fatima College, three at the Secondary Schools Water Polo Championships which were held at the Marlins Swim Club in Westmoorings on March 15.

Convent proved to be dominant in the Under-16 Girls' final where they hammered rivals Holy Name Convent Port-of-Spain (HNCP), 21-7.

The pair of Shauna Murphy and Abella Mollenthiel scored three goals apiece to open up an 8-2 advantage in the first period of play. Pit against a powerful St Joseph's Convent attack, Holy Name spent most of their time picking the ball out of the goalpost.

Holy Name scored two goals in the second quarter and four in the last quarter, but it proved to be no match for the counterparts, getting double strikes from Romaya Pierre and Murphy for a total of five goals in the match, as well as Alexis Avey and Jenaya Richens to complete the demolition.

The St Joseph's Convent girls returned to the pool later to beat Holy Name Convent counterparts for a second time 13-10 to run away with the Open Girls title. This time, they were led by four goals from Avey, one each in the first and second periods, coupled with a brace coming in the third period.

However, she was not the only player in the spotlight on the day, as Jodie Marie Riley and Mekelle Cedeno both scored three goals in the match to complete their success.

Fatima College later took the Boys Under-16, the Boys U-14 and the Open Boys crowns for the lion's share of awards on the day.

Led by eight goals from Christian Grant the Fatima lads romped to a 18-3 victory. Grant was then supported by five goals from Giovanni Felician-Moses who fired in four in the first session and one in the third.

Soon after the Fatima boys edged Queen's Royal College (QRC) for their second title on the day before edging arch-rivals St Mary's College (CIC) 16-15. Jeremiah Henriques-Brown scored 10 of the 16 goals for his team, with Kyle Chin Lee adding four in the total.
