Lewis blasts T10 century in Tobago

West In­dies bats­man Evin Lewis slammed a cen­tu­ry to lead Pi­rates Bay Raiders to a 44-run win over Store Bay Snorkel­ers on day four of the Dream XI To­ba­go T10 Blast at Shaw Park, To­ba­go on Tues­day (March 25).

The left-hand­ed open­er struck 12 six­es and six fours in his 107 and on­ly ran 11 of his runs when they bat­ted first.

Lewis opened with Navin Stew­art, who hit 22 from 19 balls as Pi­rates Bay Raiders scored 150 for two from their 10 overs.

In re­ply, Daniel Williams scored 26, Ak­shaya Per­saud hit 23 and cap­tain De­journ Charles post­ed 20, but it was not enough as the Snorkel­ers reached 106 for 7 from their 10 overs.

Mar­lon Richards struck three times in one over to fin­ish his spell with three for nine from his two overs.

The Raiders are per­fect af­ter three match­es and are on top of the ta­ble with six points.

In the sec­ond match at Shaw Park, Akiel Coop­er’s un­beat­en 32 led Pi­geon Point Skiers to a win­ning start and a six-wick­et win over Mt Irvine Surfers.

The Surfers bat­ted first and were re­strict­ed to 84 for 8. Crys­t­ian Thur­ton scored 23 from 11 balls to top score for the Mt Irvine team.

The Skiers wait­ed un­til the penul­ti­mate ball as the Surfers made a match out of the low score. Coop­er’s 32 came off 23 balls with two fours and two six­es and was sup­port­ed by cap­tain Jesse Bootan, who scored 25 with four fours.

The Skiers are third in the ta­ble on two points from one match and be­hind the Surfers, who lost their first match and are on four points.
