Seyjagat posted the slowest time in the qualifiers at 12.763, and she later summed up an unfavourable time at the Games by squandering a second chance at a quarterfinal berth via the repechage by finishing behind top place Carliany Martinez of Venezuela and second-place Thalia Diaz of Cuba.
Sandy though, the emerging T&T sprinter rebounded from her defeat in the 1/8 round to Abigail Recio of Costa Rica to claim victory in the repechage and earn a place in the quarterfinals ahead of Sandra Cabrera of Cuba in second and third-place Elianta Soteran of Venezuela.
