For­mer na­tion­al youth foot­baller, mid­field­er John-Paul Rochford, 21, has signed a two-year con­tract with Guatemalan club, An­tigua GFC.

The club cam­paigns in the Liga Na­cional de Fút­bol de Guatemala, which is the high­est di­vi­sion of foot­ball in the coun­try.

Rochford, a for­mer top play­er in the Sec­ondary Schools Foot­ball League with Queen’s Roy­al Col­lege (QRC), has cap­tained both na­tion­al Un­der-17 and U-20 teams in the past.

The younger broth­er of for­mer na­tion­al play­er, Jean-Luc Rochford, John-Paul is a for­mer FC San­ta Rosa and North East Stars play­er and had a taste of the in­ter­na­tion­al pro­fes­sion­al club set-up hav­ing been part of the fi­nal par­tic­i­pants at pre­vi­ous Dig­i­cel Kick-Start Acad­e­my stints at Eng­lish Pre­mier League clubs, Chelsea FC and Man­ches­ter City.
