BRIDGETOWN – De­fend­ing cham­pi­ons Set­tlers slipped to their sec­ond suc­ces­sive de­feat while Pel­i­cans con­tin­ued their play­off push with a thrilling vic­to­ry when the BIM10 crick­et tour­na­ment con­tin­ued in Bar­ba­dos on Mon­day.

Play­ing at the Wind­ward Crick­et Ground, Guardians picked up their fourth win in eight match­es when they up­set Set­tlers by 24 runs.

Their cap­tain Roshon Primus smashed 46 runs from just 14 balls, in­clu­sive of five six­es and three fours to help get Guardians up to 105 for four from their 10 overs.

Aaron Da­ley (3-9) and Ryshon Williams (3-12) then ran through the Set­tlers’ bat­ting to re­strict them to 81 for nine in 10 overs.

Mean­while, Pel­i­cans nar­row­ly pipped War­riors by two wick­ets in a con­test that went down to the last ball of the match.

Bat­ting first, the War­riors on­ly mus­tered 75 for six from 10 overs, with Chemar Hold­er grab­bing 2-10 from his two overs.

In their chase, Pel­i­cans got home off the last ball, fin­ish­ing on 76 for eight to reg­is­ter a thrilling vic­to­ry.
