ST JOHN’S, An­tigua – Crick­et West In­dies (CWI) has an­nounced a Men’s “A” Team se­ries, with West In­dies “A” host­ing South Africa “A” from May 21 to June 11, 2025 at the Daren Sam­my Crick­et Ground in Saint Lu­cia.

The tour will in­clude three 50-over match­es and two four-day first-class fix­tures, of­fer­ing fans a mix of white-ball and red-ball crick­et, ac­cord­ing to CWI .

CWI CEO Chris Dehring high­light­ed the im­por­tance of the se­ries in prepar­ing play­ers for the rigours of in­ter­na­tion­al crick­et. “With an in­creas­ing­ly busy sched­ule, com­pet­i­tive ‘A’ team crick­et is vi­tal for play­er readi­ness. Host­ing match­es across the re­gion al­so strength­ens our bond with fans and en­sures crick­et re­mains a uni­fy­ing force in the Caribbean.”

The se­ries reignites a grow­ing ri­val­ry, fol­low­ing West In­dies “A”’s tour of South Africa in 2023. This time, the Caribbean side will en­joy home ad­van­tage, with Saint Lu­cia’s pas­sion­ate fans ex­pect­ed to play a key role.

Miles Bas­combe, CWI’s Di­rec­tor of Crick­et, em­pha­sised the de­vel­op­men­tal ben­e­fits. “This se­ries is a crit­i­cal path­way for play­ers push­ing for se­nior se­lec­tion. With the new World Test Cham­pi­onship cy­cle ap­proach­ing, it’s the per­fect op­por­tu­ni­ty for emerg­ing tal­ent to stake their claim.”

The West In­dies “A” squad will be an­nounced soon, while South Africa “A” ar­rives in Saint Lu­cia on May 16.
