ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced a Men’s “A” Team series, with West Indies “A” hosting South Africa “A” from May 21 to June 11, 2025 at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia.
The tour will include three 50-over matches and two four-day first-class fixtures, offering fans a mix of white-ball and red-ball cricket, according to CWI .
CWI CEO Chris Dehring highlighted the importance of the series in preparing players for the rigours of international cricket. “With an increasingly busy schedule, competitive ‘A’ team cricket is vital for player readiness. Hosting matches across the region also strengthens our bond with fans and ensures cricket remains a unifying force in the Caribbean.”
The series reignites a growing rivalry, following West Indies “A”’s tour of South Africa in 2023. This time, the Caribbean side will enjoy home advantage, with Saint Lucia’s passionate fans expected to play a key role.
Miles Bascombe, CWI’s Director of Cricket, emphasised the developmental benefits. “This series is a critical pathway for players pushing for senior selection. With the new World Test Championship cycle approaching, it’s the perfect opportunity for emerging talent to stake their claim.”
The West Indies “A” squad will be announced soon, while South Africa “A” arrives in Saint Lucia on May 16.
