Barataria South and St Au­gus­tine Se­nior will be­gin ac­tion in the East Zone of the Sec­ondary Schools Net­ball League to­day at the Scherzan­do Pan Yard court in Curepe, from 1 pm. Three oth­er match­es are sched­uled in two di­vi­sions–Un­der-13 and Un­der-15. The open­ing match will be in the Un­der-13 Di­vi­sion. The Schools League will al­so have com­pe­ti­tion in U-17 and U-20 Di­vi­sions.

Both the Un­der-13 and Un­der-15 match­es will be of 30 min­utes du­ra­tion–two 15 minute halves–while the oth­er two di­vi­sions will com­pete in four 10-minute pe­ri­ods (40 min­utes). Last Thurs­day, the league opened at Ma­yaro Re­gion­al In­door Sports Are­na and Mu­cu­rapo West re­tained its march past ti­tle when it came up against 45 oth­er schools. In a keen con­test, Mu­cu­rapo got the judges nod ahead of Guayagua­yare. Third was St Fran­cois Col­lege, fourth Diego Mar­tin North and fifth Mt Hope Sec­ondary.
