Jamaica Money Market Brokers Limited has advised the Exchange that they have completed their assessment and the Board of Directors have approved the acquisition of 80% of the Corporacion de Credito America S.A. (CCA) in the Dominican Republic, a registered Savings and Loans institution. The JMMB Group currently includes the brokerage house JMMB BDI America, also domiciled in the Dominican Republic, which provides investment opportunities to clients in the Dominican Republic through the development of the secondary market in that jurisdiction. This acquisition complements their regional diversification strategy as they seek to more effectively fulfill the financial needs of the local market in the Dominican Republic. Corporacion de Credito America S.A. (CCA) was originally established in 1971 under the name American Premium Funding, S.A. In 2007, it was transformed into a full-fledged Savings and Loans Institution and re-named the Corporacion de Credito America S.A., providing savings accounts, loans, credit cards and cambio services to primarily the retail market in the Dominican Republic.
