?A 19-year-old man is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear in the San­gre Grande Mag­is­trates' Court to­day, charged with the Christ­mas Eve mur­der of Dwight De Sil­va. The sus­pect, of Fos­ter Road, San­gre Grande, was hos­pi­talised af­ter he was chopped dur­ing an in­ci­dent in the San Grande Dis­trict Hos­pi­tal. He was charged with the cap­i­tal of­fence on Sat­ur­day night on the ad­vice from act­ing DPP Roger Gas­pard.

De Sil­va, 30, of Gookool Lands, Va­len­cia, died last week at San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal, from a stab wound to the neck. He was at­tacked around 4 am on De­cem­ber 24, while work­ing at Big Bar night­club in San­gre Grande. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, De Sil­va was stabbed af­ter he spoke to a pa­tron about bring­ing al­co­holic bev­er­ages, pur­chased out­side, in­to the club. Se­nior Supt Mar­garet Samp­son-Brown and de­tec­tives Jones, Hor­rel and Leon, of the San­gre Grande CID, in­ves­ti­gat­ed the in­ci­dent.
