Rampersad leads goal spree with hat-trick

An­dre Ram­per­sad scored a hat-trick for 1st FC San­ta Rosa, which had ten play­ers find­ing the net in its 16-0 maul­ing of M&M Har­vard in Group A of the Na­tion­al Youth League Play­offs on Sat­ur­day. In ad­di­tion to Ram­per­sad's hat-trick, there were dou­ble strikes from An­to­nio Au­guste, Aaron Au­guste and Jod­han De­von­ish. This is San­ta Rosa's sec­ond win, which puts it at the top of the stand­ings with six points, while re­main­ing un­beat­en.

In Group B Moru­ga moved to four points in two match­es af­ter a 2-1 win over Cap Off Youths. Mar­cus Ramkhelawan 12th, Kheil Ri­biero 25th net­ted for the win­ners, while De­on O'Gar­ro pulled one back for his team in the 78th minute. In un­der-18 ac­tion, 1976 FC Phoenix won by de­fault, as M&M Har­vard failed to show up for their Group A en­counter. Phoenix has now moved to sec­ond be­hind Ma­yaro Spurs which has six points af­ter play­ing un­beat­en in its two match­es.

In Group B, WASA Foot­ball Club moved in­to the top spot, win­ning by de­fault, as Pt Fortin Civic Cen­tre al­so failed to show. Mean­while Cap Off Youths led by a dou­ble strike from Akeil John, got its sec­ond win in three match­es, get­ting the bet­ter of Queen's Park Crick­et Club (QPCC) 3-1. Nicholas Bernard gave the Youths the lead in the 12th minute, be­fore Aaron Lam­bie equalised for QPCC in the 23rd minute. The one-goal lead was then re­stored by John with his first 15 min­utes lat­er. He then sealed the is­sue with his sec­ond in the 71st minute to give his side the win.
