Ken Ali was quot­ed in the Guardian of No­vem­ber 12 as say-ing, "What would peo­ple say when Chris­tians were af­fect­ed fur­ther by re­struc­tur­ing at the com­pa­ny..." This state­ment shows Ali's ig­no­rance of the Mus­lim com­mu­ni­ty's re­ac­tion to the fir­ing of Fazeer Mo­hammed from CN­MG. First­ly, Ali should note that the pre­vi­ous PNM ad­min­is­tra­tion was pro-Chris­t­ian and that com­mu­ni­ty ben­e­fit­ed great­ly from the then gov­ern­ment through grants etc.

Now that the Peo­ple's Part­ner­ship is in pow­er, it seems that it is the Hin­du com­mu­ni­ty's turn to reap the re­wards of gov­er­nance. (How many Eid pro­grammes were at­tend­ed by mem­bers of the PP Gov­ern­ment and how much mon­ey was al­lo­cat­ed to Mus­lims?) So when would the Mus­lim com­mu­ni­ty ben­e­fit? Un­der the PNM and now the PP Gov­ern­ments, Mus­lims seems to be get­ting the short­er end of the stick and when they voice their opin­ions they face the pos­si­bil­i­ty of be­ing la­belled as ter­ror­ists and fa­nat­ics. Can any­one please tell me when would this in­jus­tice stop?
