Hun­dreds of cur­ry-mouth Tri­nis braved the rains to come out to the ul­ti­mate culi­nary ex­pe­ri­ence at the Ma­yaro Recre­ation­al Ground last Mon­day, where the Dig­i­cel-spon­sored 103FM Cur­ry Duck com­pe­ti­tion took place.

It was a fam­i­ly af­fair where 20 teams vy­ing for 13 prizes turned up to prove their culi­nary skills over their com­peti­tors who came from as far away as Guyana, to the ever-pop­u­lar an­nu­al gas­tro­nom­i­cal event which draws mas­sive crowds.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­lease, this year's com­pe­ti­tion in­clud­ed a new cat­e­go­ry–the Co­conut Chut­ney Show­down–which proved very pop­u­lar with the ex­perts in East In­di­an cui­sine and was won by Khchoor in D' Chul­ha Crew.

Ex­cit­ing the taste buds of the judges and cop­ping the top prize for Best Cur­ry Duck was Team Guyana, fol­lowed by Nar­ine Dou­bles, Khchoor in D' Chul­ha Crew and Eve Evo­lu­tion Duck Crew.

Get­ting the judges' nod and tak­ing home the top prize for Best Pep­per Roti was Khchoor in D' Chul­ha who beat Lash­ing La­goon Duck in­to sec­ond place.

The Duck & Dance Crew car­ried away the prize for Largest Cook­ing Posse with Tri­ni Limers Crew beat­ing the oth­ers as the team with the Best Vibe. Adding to the ex­cite­ment of the day was a long line-up of pop­u­lar artistes who kept the crowd on their feet well in­to the evening.
