Tourism Trinidad’s Carnival booth, which was located in the North Park at the Carnival Village, Queen's Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain, was buzzing with activity as over 500 foreigners from as close as Grenada to as far as Germany came here to enjoy T&T Carnival.

The booth, which was set up on February 25 and ran until March 2 (Carnival Saturday), welcomed tourists and engaged them in history lessons on Trinidad’s sites, attractions, culture, music and festivals.

Visitors also played activities like Spin-The-Wheel, which afforded prizes such as locally-made pepper sauce and other novelty items emblazoned with the #visittrinidad logo.

Vital information was provided on the functions of Tourism Trinidad and maps outlining various Carnival routes were distributed, along with safety tips and a list of must-see places to the visitors. The tourism guides and executives of Tourism Trinidad have also been working round-the-clock to provide support to ensure a memorable stay for visitors.

A similar service was set up at Skinner Park in San Fernando for Kiddies Carnival on March 3.

“This is just the start of a much broader strategy around branding Trinidad as the ultimate tourist destination," manager Corporate Communication and Stakeholder Relations of Tourism Trinidad Elizabeth Warner-Juilen said.

"The intent is to attract visitors and members of the public to this space to learn about our new company, share information and ensure that all of our visiting friends enjoy a safe and happy Carnival and are encouraged to come again."

She added that feedback will also be collated to enhance the visitor experience even further and increase arrivals for 2020.

"This will play a critical role in injecting much needed foreign exchange into the economy - a key responsibility of the company in advancing the sector and promoting education and awareness of our unique tourism product,” Warner-Julien added.
