Nine­ty-five po­lice re­cruits to­day passed an­oth­er ma­jor mile­stone in their jour­ney to be­come mem­bers of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS).

The re­cruits took the ‘Oath of Of­fice and Se­cre­cy’, at a swear­ing cer­e­mo­ny at the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Acad­e­my Gym­na­si­um, St. James, Port-of-Spain.

Deputy Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice, Stephen Williams, who de­liv­ered the fea­ture ad­dress at the cer­e­mo­ny told the re­cruits that they must al­ways keep in mind that the pub­lic has cer­tain ex­pec­ta­tions of po­lice of­fi­cers and the lev­el of ser­vice they are trained to de­liv­er.

He, there­fore, urged the re­cruits to meet and ex­ceed all ex­pec­ta­tions of peo­ple dur­ing their ca­reer.As­sis­tant Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice ‘Ad­min­is­tra­tion’ Ains­ley Gar­rick, ad­min­is­tered the Oath and Ex­hor­ta­tion to the re­cruits.

The re­cruits were urged to nev­er take a plea for help from a mem­ber of the pub­lic for grant­ed dur­ing the course of their du­ty.

They were al­so told that the great­est thing they can do in their ca­reer and life is to help peo­ple in need.

These re­cruits who were ad­mit­ted to the Acad­e­my in 7th Ju­ly 2018, will now pro­ceed to re­ceive their firearm train­ing, be­fore con­tin­u­ing on in their jour­ney to be­come of­fi­cers of the TTPS.
