The police officer caught on camera involved in an altercation with a traffic warden, has been suspended. The acting Commissioner of Police Erla Christopher made this decision pending the outcome of the investigation into the incident.

Officers attached to the professional standards bureau are now investigating an incident between a female traffic warden and an off-duty police officer.

In the viral video, the off-duty officer is captured assaulting the traffic warden along Frederick street in Port of Spain, it is unclear what triggered the confrontation.

In a release issued by the T-T-P-S, both the police officer and the female traffic warden are currently assisting investigators.

Acting commissioner of police Erla Christopher immediately instructed that an investigation be launched surrounding the circumstances seen in the video footage.
