Li­cens­ing Of­fices across the coun­try have re­opened for busi­ness to the gen­er­al pub­lic, as of Tues­day 23rd June 2020.

In a news re­lease is­sued by the Min­istry of Works and Trans­port, the pub­lic is ad­vised that they can ac­cess all ser­vices of­fered at li­cens­ing of­fices na­tion­wide and at nor­mal work­ing hours (Mon­day to Fri­day, 8:00am to 4:00pm). The Min­istry notes, how­ev­er, the Of­fi­cer-in-Charge re­serves the right to im­ple­ment mea­sures where nec­es­sary, to mit­i­gate con­ges­tion.

The Min­istry notes that op­tions to pre-book all ap­point­ments via tele­phone and on­line are still avail­able:

-  Tele­phone… 612-2700 / 612-2701 / 612-2710. All Calls for ap­point­ments must be made be­tween the hours 8:00am to 3:00pm, Mon­day to Fri­day.

The Min­istry al­so ad­vis­es that Se­nior Cit­i­zens are ex­empt­ed from the use of the ex­ist­ing Ap­point­ment Sys­tem at all lo­ca­tions.

Mean­while, used car deal­ers are ad­vised they can con­tin­ue to uti­lize the spe­cial arrange­ments made by the Trans­port Com­mis­sion­er when vis­it­ing the Ca­roni, Wright­son Road and San Fer­nan­do Li­cens­ing Of­fices. A spe­cialised Ac­cess Card along with oth­er per­ti­nent in­for­ma­tion will be giv­en to each used car deal­er by the as­signed Trans­port Of­fi­cers.

Non-used car deal­ers are re­quired to con­tin­ue to utilise the ex­ist­ing Ap­point­ment Sys­tem when reg­is­ter­ing ve­hi­cles.
