Officials of Alstons Marketing Company Limited (AMCO) has categorically denied claims that there are counterfeit Magnum Tonic Wines in circulation.
Officials denounced social media reports as they reassured that the quality, integrity and safety of the product remained intact and uncompromised.
As the exclusive distributor of the Magnum Tonic Wine, AMCO officials explained that J Wray & Nephew Limited—the manufacturer of the brand currently utilises two bottles in the packaging of the popular drink.
They said, “Both bottles are identical save and except for the embossing on the bottle which includes the numbers at the bottom. One bottle has no numbers at the bottom and the other has visible numbers that can be felt by touch. The formulation or liquid contained in both bottles are absolutely the same.”
AMCO urged Magnum lovers and other stakeholders to look for the tamper-proof cap which makes an audible “crick” sound when opened.
Additionally, people can verify the manufacturer’s alphanumeric code which identifies the manufacturing date and batch number.
