Ailing Soca Star Blaxx will remain hospitalised until weekend as he remains under observation at Medical Associates, St Joseph.
While the artiste continues to recover following recently conducted surgery for lung and kidney complications, a new Gofundme page was set up in his support.
The artiste’s manager Giselle Gellineau-Penrose shared the page stating that it “is the only authorized Gofundme account for Mr Dexter Stewart aka Blaxx. We thank everyone for their continued support as he is hospitalized with lung and kidney issues. Your donations in any size is most appreciated and we will ensure that he gets all the love and support you give. We thank you for the years of love and look forward to him being back on his feet. This account is necessary as many international persons have expressed their want to support.”
Guardian Media was told that the page was set up to replace the initial donation drive spearheaded by Soca Artiste Dawg E Slaughter over weekend, after numerous persons overseas expressed interest in assisting but got into difficulty reaching out to share their donations.
“It also brings a level of accountability to the effort, in terms of money collected,” a source close to Blaxx told Guardian Media yesterday.
The “Leh Go” and “Hulk” singer was taken to the hospital on Tuesday after his condition appeared to worsen less than a week after being discharged from the Eric Williams Medical Science Complex, where he had undergone the surgical procedures.
It was discovered that he had fluid in his lungs when he was taken to the St Joseph medical facility.
