An argument at a San Juan home escalated into a fight, which led to a 17-year-old boy and a 56-year-old man being taken to hospital for stab and chop wounds Monday afternoon.
A 24-year-old man who also got involved in the brawl was also arrested by police.
Investigators said the incident began when the 56-year-old visited his girlfriend on Irving Street, Petit Bourg, around 5 pm when he got into an argument with the 17-year-old who also lives at the house.
During the exchange, the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the teen once on the left side of his face.
The man ran away through a nearby track which led to the Eastern Main Road but was chased by a 24-year-old man who is a friend of the teenager.
The friend who was armed with a cutlass chopped the man on his head and hand.
Neighbours saw the fracas and called the police who arrested the 24-year-old and took the wounded man and boy to hospital.
Officers of the North Eastern Division crime scene investigation unit visited the area and collected evidence from the street.
San Juan CID officers are continuing enquiries.
