Caribbean Airlines is rubbishing safety hazard claims by the Trinidad and Tobago Airline Pilots Association (TTALPA) as 'reckless!'

Responding to Monday's emergency landing of BW1541 with 68 passengers onboard, the TTALPA claimed that over the last decade it has been raising multiple safety concerns with CAL over its ATR aircraft. The association also accused the company of ignoring their concerns.

However, in a media release on Monday, the state-owned airline reiterated its commitment to safety saying, it operates in strict compliance with local and international aviation safety regulations. Furthermore, CAL says it is subject to rigorous oversight from multiple independent local and international regulatory bodies.
