The Coalition of Concerned Patriots, led by former police commissioner Gary Griffith, is a non-political and informal group of experts who want to take back T&T from the criminal elements. With an all-hands-on-deck policy, the team of experts is ready to provide policy support and technical expertise to aid in national development.
Presenting members of the group during a media conference at the Hyatt Regency, Port-of-Spain yesterday, Griffith said, “The biggest concern in T&T at this time, obviously, is national security.”
He said the members were ready and willing to work to restore hope, peace, trust and productivity among the populace to make T&T better than it is now.
The group includes businessman Peter George; firearms expert Paul Nahous; retired Brigadier Carl Alfonso; attorney Nyree Alfonso; former deputy police commissioners Jayson Forde and Wayne Dick; former wing Commander Felicity Diaz; Lt Commander Norman Dindial; retired Major Dirk Barnes; retired Major Sarwan Boodram; attorney Larry Lalla; Dr Stephen Ramroop; Pastor Clive Dottin; Dr Sanjay Badri-Maharaj; former security adviser Dwight Andrews; and CEO of Heller Security Services Dwight Williams.
Griffith said the last eight months had seen the highest spike in crime.
Indicating the group will provide consultancy services to interested entities because they care about T&T, Griffith said they will also be sending out correspondence to relevant agencies and ministries offering their assistance on how best to fight crime.
