The relatives of a missing man are pleading for help in finding him. Speaking with Guardian Media yesterday, Anthony Henwood, the older brother of Marlon Henwood, said the 56-year-old was last seen alive on Carnival Saturday morning in San Fernando. It was alleged that he was beaten by strangers near a fast-food restaurant.

The elder Henwood, who lives in Canada, said he was also told that his brother was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he remained before being discharged on Carnival Monday.

He said there were claims Henwood was seen in San Fernando and Marabella, but despite this, he was yet to be found.

The brother said Henwood, who has dual Canadian/Trinidadian citizenship, returned to T&T in April 2024 and was left in the care of their mother, Linda Henwood at the family’s Siparia home.

He said his brother suffered from a developmental disability and a speech impediment, which made communication difficult.

“He doesn’t smoke, he doesn’t drink, he doesn’t do drugs or anything like that, he’s just at the understanding of a five-year-old.

“He goes out all the time. He only stays in Siparia, he never ventures out of Siparia.”

The elder brother said Henwood was known by the taxi drivers in the area.

Anyone with information on Henwood’s location has been asked to contact the nearest police station or 999.
