Five held in connection with gang-related activities

Five male sus­pects were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with gang re­lat­ed ac­tiv­i­ties and mo­tor ve­hi­cle lar­ce­ny by of­fi­cers of the North Cen­tral

Di­vi­sion (NCD), Area West, dur­ing an an­ti-crime op­er­a­tion con­duct­ed in the Tu­na­puna dis­trict last night.

The TTPS says of­fi­cers of the NCD Task Force, were con­duct­ing a road traf­fic

ex­er­cise around 10 pm yes­ter­day, when they stopped and searched a Blue AD Wag­on mo­tor ve­hi­cle with five male oc­cu­pants.

The sus­pects, ages 20 to 33, of Tu­na­puna, Ari­ma and St. Au­gus­tine, were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with mo­tor ve­hi­cle lar­ce­ny and gang re­lat­ed ac­tiv­i­ties.

Mean­while, of­fi­cers al­so pro­ceed­ed to the Cas­cade dis­trict where they con­duct­ed a search at a house where they found two box­es con­tain­ing 21 rounds of 12 gauge car­tridges.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing in­to the two mat­ters.
