Five male suspects were arrested in connection with gang related activities and motor vehicle larceny by officers of the North Central
Division (NCD), Area West, during an anti-crime operation conducted in the Tunapuna district last night.
The TTPS says officers of the NCD Task Force, were conducting a road traffic
exercise around 10 pm yesterday, when they stopped and searched a Blue AD Wagon motor vehicle with five male occupants.
The suspects, ages 20 to 33, of Tunapuna, Arima and St. Augustine, were arrested in connection with motor vehicle larceny and gang related activities.
Meanwhile, officers also proceeded to the Cascade district where they conducted a search at a house where they found two boxes containing 21 rounds of 12 gauge cartridges.
Investigations are ongoing into the two matters.
