A 34-year-old man who was arrested after he was allegedly caught during a housebreaking incident yesterday has also been charged with Pavilion Breaking and Larceny.
Ron Belcon is the second suspect arrested in connection with the incident which took place on Thursday.
He is expected to appear at the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
According to police reports, around 1:30 am on Thursday, a bar proprietor secured his establishment located on Foster Road, Sangre Grande.
He returned at 10 am the same day and discovered the place had been ransacked.
Two bottles of whiskey, an assortment of cigarettes, and $12,000 was also allegedly missing.
Investigations revealed two suspects allegedly breaking into the bar. Further enquiries led to the arrest of one of the suspects.
WPC Joseph and PCs Lezama and Budhooram continued investigations and learned that the second suspect was being detained at the Sangre Grande Police Station.
He was subsequently charged with Pavilion Breaking.
Arcola Deary, 46 was also arrested and charged on December 1 by WPC Joseph.
He appeared at the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court and was denied bail after pleading not guilty.
