Fifty-nine-year old Robert Cudjoe was sentenced to 16 months of hard labour when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Adrian Darmanie at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court today charged with robbery.
ROBERT CUDJOE was sentenced 16 months’ hard labour today. The 59-year-old man pleaded guilty to the charges of office breaking and larceny when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Adrian Darmanie at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court today.
Around 1:55 pm on Monday 4th October, 2021, a female employee of a guest house located at Derrick Road, Chase Village, Freeport when she observed a man on the compound via their CCTV cameras. The employee allegedly saw the man break into an office space located on the western side of the building, which is used to store air conditioning units and other supplies. She then observed the suspect removing an air conditioning unit from the said office.
The woman then made checks and observed one Tachiair AC unit valued at $2,500 was missing. Following a report made to the police, Ag/ Cpl Baboolal and PC Paul visited the scene, interviewed persons, recorded statements and the CCTV footage was retrieved. Police reviewed the CCTV footage then arrested and charged the accused with office breaking and larceny.
