A 32-year-old man was chased and killed by gunmen in La Romaine, last night.
He has been identified as Ray Bunsee, also known as Spoon, of Pond Street, La Romaine.
Reports indicated that around 11:45 pm, Bunsee was standing in the car park of Shorty's Bar along the Southern Main Road with three friends, including an 18-year-old woman, near his Kia Cerato. He was speaking on his cell phone when a silver wagon pulled up behind his vehicle.
Three occupants came out and began firing shots. Bunsee and his friends scampered off. The gunmen pursued Bunsee through a track and continued firing at him. The assailants then escaped in their vehicle.
Police searched the area and found Bunsee's body in the track. No one else was injured.
Police suspect that revenge might be the motive for the killing. Inquires also revealed that the getaway vehicle bore false number plates. In addition, police retrieved 15 spent shells and a live 5.56 bullet from the scene.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations are continuing investigations.
