A 32-year-old man was chased and killed by gun­men in La Ro­maine, last night.

He has been iden­ti­fied as Ray Bun­see, al­so known as Spoon, of Pond Street, La Ro­maine.

Re­ports in­di­cat­ed that around 11:45 pm, Bun­see was stand­ing in the car park of Shorty's Bar along the South­ern Main Road with three friends, in­clud­ing an 18-year-old woman, near his Kia Cer­a­to. He was speak­ing on his cell phone when a sil­ver wag­on pulled up be­hind his ve­hi­cle.

Three oc­cu­pants came out and be­gan fir­ing shots. Bun­see and his friends scam­pered off. The gun­men pur­sued Bun­see through a track and con­tin­ued fir­ing at him.  The as­sailants then es­caped in their ve­hi­cle.

Po­lice searched the area and found Bun­see's body in the track. No one else was in­jured.

Po­lice sus­pect that re­venge might be the mo­tive for the killing.  In­quires al­so re­vealed that the get­away ve­hi­cle bore false num­ber plates.  In ad­di­tion, po­lice re­trieved 15 spent shells and a live 5.56 bul­let from the scene.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
