Fifty-five-year-old Jerome Henry, owner of Hammer Head Bar, Eastern Main Road, Manzanilla, is nursing head injuries after four masked men, one armed with a gun, entered his bar yesterday morning and held him up.
The incident took place around 12.15 am. The man whipped out a gun from his waist and pointed it in Henry’s direction. The four bandits then began to beat him on his head and body. He fell on the floor. They relieved him of cash from the day’s sale, cigarettes, alcohol, a Dell laptop, and a Samsung A34 cellphone.
The bandits made their escape on foot along the coast of Manzanilla Beach. Police officers W/Cpl Clarke-Hospedales, PCs Moore, and Willie of Manzanilla Police Post responded.
The injured bar owner was taken by police to the Sangre Grande Hospital, where he is warded in stable condition. Investigations are continuing by W/Cpl Clarke-Hospedales of the Manzanilla Police Post.
