The following is a press release from The Ministry of Social Development:
To continue in its approach to supporting healthy families through preventative and restorative strategies and to reinforce that families are the centre of society, the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services through the National Family Services Division launched the “It’s Family Time Let’s Talk” Radio Programme on 195.5FM and 98.1FM.
The radio programme has been coordinated for many years as a means of interacting with and informing the National Community on a wide range of issues impacting family life. This year’s efforts will be geared toward continuing to aid families in coping with the changes in lifestyle due to the ongoing effects of COVID-19.
Speaking during the launch on 98.1FM on International Day of Families, Saturday, 15th May 2021 Senator the Honourable Donna Cox, Minister of Social Development and Family Services indicated that the Ministry is cognizant that families are under added pressure due to COVID-19.
Minister Cox stated “We are mindful of the limitations the virus has placed on our modes of human interaction and how it has forced us to find innovative ways to maintain and strengthen familial and other relationships. Therefore, I encourage all families – parents and children to join us on I95.5FM and 98.1FM as we share information, our experiences, challenges, and solutions to improving family life in Trinidad and Tobago.”
Citizens are encouraged to join the programme every Wednesday from May 12 to August 25th from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on I95.5FM, or every Saturday from May 15 to June 19, 2021 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM on 98.1FM, to discuss various issues affecting the family.
