Operations at the Piarco International Airport are now back to normal following an evacuation caused as a result of a report of a bomb scare aboard a Caribbean Airlines flight to Tobago.
According to a release from Caribbean Airlines it confirmed that advice of a threat, was received via the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) regarding flight BW1832 from Trinidad to Tobago.
"In keeping with the standard operating procedure the flight was evacuated and the relevant agencies are conducting the necessary checks. All passengers and crew were safely deplaned," the release stated.
"Once the aircraft is cleared it will be returned to service," it stated.
Caribbean Airlines thanked all stakeholders for their understanding as the airline deals with this matter.
