Po­lice and army uni­forms were found and seized by po­lice of­fi­cers dur­ing an ex­er­cise yes­ter­day in Sec­ond Cale­do­nia, Mor­vant.

Po­lice said in­for­ma­tion led them to Cipri­ani Av­enue and dur­ing a search of an emp­ty lot of land they found one army cam­ou­flage uni­form, one po­lice tac­ti­cal uni­form and one bul­let­proof vest.

The po­lice ex­er­cise took place be­tween 3.15 pm and 7 pm in the North East­ern Di­vi­sion by mem­bers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force as­sist­ed by mem­bers of the K-9 Unit.

The ex­er­cise was spear­head­ed by Snr Supt Ma­haraj, Supt Ramjohn, ASP Pa­ri­man and In­sp Bharath. It was su­per­vised by Sgt Mar­tin, Cpl Daniel and Cpl Dun­can.

Sev­er­al search war­rants for firearms and am­mu­ni­tion were ex­e­cut­ed in the Mor­vant and San Juan dis­tricts.

Al­so a search was con­duct­ed in a bushy area of the bas­ket­ball court sit­u­at­ed at Oudan Road, El So­cor­ro where of­fi­cers found and seized a sil­ver-coloured pis­tol with the se­r­i­al num­ber and oth­er mark­ings filed off. No one was ar­rest­ed for both find­ings, how­ev­er, po­lice of­fi­cers are ask­ing mem­bers of the pub­lic who may have more in­for­ma­tion on the peo­ple be­hind it can con­tact them anony­mous­ly through 555, 800 TIPS or 482 GARY.
