Officers from the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB) of the T&T Police Service are at this time executing search warrants and the headquarters of the Drugs Sou Sou (DSS) in La Horquetta, Arima.
Shortly before 11 am, the officers blocked off the road leading to the premises from which the DSS operates.
The exercise is being led by Sgt Silver of the PSB and the warrants are for receipts and seizure of cash.
This is the second police raid on the DSS in just over a month. On September 21, police raided the business place located in Phase One, La Horquetta, took nine people into custody and seized millions of dollars in cash. However, within hours of the seizure, junior officers attached to the La Horquetta Police Station reportedly returned the cash to DSS operator Kerron Clarke without authorisation to do so.
Investigations are continuing into that incident and four senior officers have been suspended and others transferred pending its outcome.
