Po­lice have ar­rest­ed eight sus­pects, sev­er­al of whom are pri­or­i­ty of­fend­ers, dur­ing op­er­a­tions in the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion and North­ern Di­vi­sion-North yes­ter­day.

Dur­ing a search at a mi­ni-mart at Orop­une Gar­dens, Pi­ar­co of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered 1386 grams of cannabis.

The of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed the own­er of the es­tab­lish­ment, a 64-year-old man in con­nec­tion with the seizure.

Mean­while, in the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers searched a house in Clax­ton Bay where they seized 320 grams of cannabis and one man was ar­rest­ed.

Of­fi­cers al­so in­ter­cept­ed a heav­i­ly tint­ed brown Hyundai Elantra ve­hi­cle along the South­ern Main Road, Clax­ton Bay, which was be­ing dri­ven by a

pri­or­i­ty of­fend­er.

He was ar­rest­ed af­ter of­fi­cers found six rounds of am­mu­ni­tion in the ve­hi­cle.

The sus­pect’s home was searched un­der the Emer­gency Pow­ers Reg­u­la­tion, no ad­di­tion­al il­le­gal items were found. How­ev­er, dur­ing the search at the premis­es, an­oth­er pri­or­i­ty of­fend­er was al­so de­tained un­der the 2024 SOE reg­u­la­tions.

Dur­ing the op­er­a­tion an­oth­er known pri­or­i­ty of­fend­er from Crown Street,

En­ter­prise was tar­get­ed. Po­lice searched his home and he was de­tained

un­der the 2024 SOE reg­u­la­tions.

Three in­di­vid­u­als were ar­rest­ed on out­stand­ing war­rants for var­i­ous of­fences.

Fol­low­ing the ar­rests, of­fi­cers al­so found 178 grams of cannabis un­der a gal­va­nize sheet­ing on Free­dom Street, En­ter­prise.
