For­mer T&T foot­baller and cur­rent ES­PN an­a­lyst, Sha­ka His­lop, says he is do­ing "much bet­ter".

His­lop col­lapsed on live tele­vi­sion dur­ing the broad­cast of a match be­tween AC Mi­lan and Re­al Madrid at the Rose Bowl on Sun­day.

He was speak­ing to co-host Dan Thomas when he fell. Thomas called for help, and emer­gency per­son­nel tend­ed to His­lop.

In a state­ment, His­lop said, "Hi every­one. Ex­cuse the blunt­ness of my first mes­sage. A lot was com­ing at me quick­ly, and I want­ed to just get it out there that was ok. And I am. I'm feel­ing much bet­ter..."

He jok­ing­ly added, "Ego still hurts like hell tho."

His­lop re­flect­ed on the mo­ment, say­ing "Some­times life gives you a mo­ment to pause. This was mine. And I have to pay at­ten­tion. Thanks for all your mes­sages. My apolo­gies if I can't get to them all. But please know I've read every one and ap­pre­ci­ate you reach­ing out."
